TCP: 300

The movie that best fits the description Slightly Historic, Slightly Epic to me is 300. Hey, it’s not about the abs huh. There is so much hope on that movie. The film was a fictional retelling of the Battle of Thermopylae.

If you have seen the movie, mot probably, you knew the historical value of it, don’t tell me you did not search for it. Haha

Of course, 300 Spartans was an exaggeration because there are other more who fought on that battle. But then again, the point of the battle is that the Greeks are outnumbered by the Persians.

TCP: City Of Angels

Our TCP host is still on vacation I guess. But she posted the topics already and the theme for this week is Angels. According to our host, “Movies that show about angels: how they touched human hearts, or how they have fallen or movies showing depicting miracles. There are a number of these movies that have made it to the box office and are really inspirational.”

If I thnk about movies with Angels, I have only two movies in mind. City of Angles and Micheal. City of Angels, I remember for its song Iris. Micheal for the fun it brings to me while watching it. In ordinary days, I will choose Micheal but since I have been neglecting TCP for long, joining today is not ordinary, so I choose City Of Angels.

The first time I watched it, I was still too young to understand the meaning of love, so I did not enjoy it. Now, while I was reading some summary of the movie, I realized I missed a lot of the movie. Then I was only concern with happy endings, of why Maggie died when Seth is already human. I hate that part but now, I appreciate what the movie is talking about.

It’s about getting your chance in happiness even if it will only last a minute, so human.

TCP: The Heartbreak Kid

The theme for this week is summer movies. Check my post about Isko, that’s what I got for not knowing the theme for this week. LOL I am not quite sure what it means about summer movies. Movies from summer? Movies about summer? What? Good thing I hopped to Marce Chris post and she says that the theme is about summer or vacation. The only vacation mode I can think right now is The Heartbreak Kid. This movie stars Ben Stiller, Malin Åkerman and Michelle Monaghan as the main characters. The story is about a 40ish man(Eddie played by Ben Stiller ) who is still single. He met a lovely lady( Lila played by Malin Åkerman) and she seems too good to be true. Without wasting much time, he marries her. On their way to their honeymoon, Eddie discovered who Lila is, she had been a cocaine user and she is very wild in bed, not to mention she sings nonstop while Eddie is so irritated by it. When they finally arrived to their destination, Eddie met a great woman (Miranda played by Michelle Monaghan). Now Eddie wants out from their marriage and wants to have a true relationship with Miranda.

The movie was funny and I did enjoyed watching it, specially the non stop singing part. And oh, the location was really cool!
