How To Write Food Review
Have you ever wondered how to write food review? I am still at loss when it comes to this but here are some tips that I can share.
Introduction. You have to tell first why are you reviewing that food and how you come to know about it. Is it something that your friend recommended? Or is it something that you have been wanting to try? You can also lay out here your expectation about the food.
Food Name and Ingredients. You might wanna say here the name of the food/dish and its ingredients.
Appearance. Please discuss here how the food appears to you. Does it look like how it is in the menu/ads/ prints? Is it palatable? Does it look appetizing? How was the smell?
Taste. Of course this is the most important part when doing the review. How is the taste compare to its ingredient? Is it acceptable to your taste bud? Is it tasty? flavorful? gratifying? Doe sit remind you of another dish?
Price. How was it compare to the prize? Is it worth it? Or is it too expensive for its taste?
Conclusion and Recommendation. What will be your total rate for the food. Will you come back again or will you buy it again? Will you recommend it to your readers?

Reviewing Real Leaf Green Tea
While I was blog hopping, I learned that Yugatech is giving away a nano if you can spot a real leaf. And since this is review blog, why not submit an entry/photo while I scrutinize this newest drink from Coca Cola Company. The product name is Real Leaf Green tea. A beverage that comes from real green tea. The product comes in three flavors, Honey Lemon, Apple and Lychee. It also comes in two sizes. In 500 ml and 1L bottle. The cap indicates the flavor of the tea. Red for Apple, Yellow for Honey Lemon and Cream for Lychee. I liked the Lychee flavor the most appealing and my sister liked it too. Maybe we were just so used with Apple or Lemon flavored tea. The Lychee flavor is something new to our taste bud.

Real Leaf Green Tea has ZERO fats and less Calories. The ingredients of the beverage are brewed tea from green tea leaves, citric acid, sugar, natural and nature identical flavors, sodium citrate, ascorbic acid, caramel color and honey (yup I copied it form the back of the bottle LOL). Green tea leaves are known to be a good source of Theanine. This is what makes your body and refreshed after drinking a bottle of Real Leaf Green tea. Theanine has been shown to reduce mental and physical stress and improves mood. (source)

Aside from it reduces mental and physical stress, I learned that Theanine can affect the production of serotonin. In several studies theanine ingestion shows positive results of improved memory, improved concentration, and improved mood effects(source). For a person who is suffering OCD like me, this is a good thing. Although it is not proven yet, changes in serotonin level can affect OCD attacks. I am not your typical OCOC type of person. I am not those who brags about being OC and being so organized, I am a REAL sufferer of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. A person suffering from OCD have a lot of mood swings, specially if we have a low level of serotonin in the body. Pineapple juice and mushroom is another source of serotoin but I do not like both. Now that I have learned about Real Leaf Tea and that it is packed with Theanine (which can affect the production of serotonin), I will be hoarding a lot of this. Before, when I am having my OCD attacks, I would just gulp down a liter of pineapple juice. I hate the taste and I hate the sting it leaves on my mouth. I also hate that there are times it cause acidity on my stomach. With Real Leaf Green tea, I now have better options.
I really have to thank Yuga and Coca Cola for this contest, because if not, I wouldn’t be curious enough to research about Green tea and Theanine. And yes I do recommend this drink to everyone, specially to people who are so stressed out. It can really refresh your mind and body.
Bee Movie
My mom was here last weekend and she brought me some honey. Yum! I never liked honey before. I had bad memories with it. My mom used to make a honey concoction with some ginger on it and calamansi. The sour taste of that concoction left a lasting impression to me, so I thought, honey was sour and ill tasting. One time she brought us a bottle of it for the kids as honey is good for coughs. And I had the courage to taste it again and boy, I lurve it! I am a late bloomer, I know.. and since that day, she ever fails to brought me a bottle every time she visit us here, and last weekend was her recent visit. I put a table spoon of honey on my chocolate drink, on my strawberry juice and even on my malungay juice (for breastfeeding).Obviously I put it in everything I can and because of that, why not review a movie about honey? BEE MOVIE!

This movie is about Bee, obviously, but with a few twist on it. For one, they can talk and they can even sue human beings! Barry B. Benson is just an ordinary bee who just graduated from college. Together with his friend, Adam Flaymen, they are about to enter hive’s Honex Industries (a division of Honesco Corporation and owned by Hexagon Group) honey-making workforce. Barry’s attitude made it hard for him to just accept the fact that are bound to work forever in the hive. He break the rule of all bees and went with the polen jocks outside their hive. He committed the most serious offense a bee can do, converse with a human being. He even befriend a human, Vanessa and together they made history, suing human for taking their honey and winning the case. Now that all the honeys are back to their hives it seems that every bee has nothing else to do including the polen jocks. And without anyone doing pollination, the plants withered. Now Barry faces another challenge, that is to bring life back everywhere.
First and foremost, I like this movie because it is in my favorite color, YELLOW. I enjoyed watching the part where Barry choose what clothes to wear.. black, yellow, balk, yellow.. it is so fun! Enough of that. Let’s talk about the story of this movie, being a mother, the movie tells a lot and it gives me an excuse to educate the kids about nature. The kids were curious about it and being a good mommy I had to explain the balance of nature, the importance of cycles and what is pollination.
The comedy stints in the movie made it more interesting for my kids. Some of the slap stick scene were really hilarious. My son ho enjoys this kind of comedy act filled our house with his laughter through out the movie. They specially liked scenes where Barry repeats what he says (like black, yellow scene and can’t fly on rain scene). If there is one scene that I don’t get or that I wish was never included in the movie was the part where they were trying to land the plane. And while doing so, and aiming for the flower, they aimed at a man wearing a flower shirt. That was just lame, specially the man’s reaction.
Overall, this movie is a good way to make you laugh and take your mind off for a while but after the movie you won’t feel great as Barry did but you will surely want to take some honey and know how good it is.
Bugong Roast Chicken
It has been a while since we last tasted Bugong Roast Chicken. It was 9 or 10 years ago I guess. We were still studying in Laguna then. When we have a little extra on our allowance, me and boyfriend (husband now) would indulge on a Bugong Chicken. It was pricey for us then, about a dollar for a quarter chicken. I can’t remember now what made it special then. Is it their sauce? Or the roasted chicken itself? Is it the fact that we never had roasted chicken before? Or is it the simplicity of our taste bud that made this dish super special then. It has been years since hubby learned that Bugong branched out here in Metro Manila. He has been on the look out for its nearest branch. It was only last Sunday that we had a taste.. years after.

Disappointed? Kinda. You know how it feels when you spent your life looking for the end of the rainbow, only to discover that there is no gold there. That is how we felt. It was like we lived in a fantasy that this dish is so great tasting and it was actually not. Expectations aside, the Bugong Roast Chicken is good. The quality of the food compared to its price is OK. It is not pricey, just right and it won’t hurt your pocket a bit. When we dine in their Market! Market! branch, we ordered their group meal, half chicken, 4 rice, drinks and two pieces chicken bbq. I also ordered chicken meat balls in Thai sauce. I don’t like the chicken meat balls in Thai sauce, the chicken balls does not taste good, it tasted like the chicken balls has been sitting there for days. Anyway, the sauce that we used to know back then were only available upon request and you have to pay extra for it. The chicken bbq was OK, no bones. Their rice was a bit hard which it made it impossible for me to enjoy my meal. It was not the way it used to be.. or maybe I am right, the only reason why we liked it so much before was the fact that we never had roasted chicken then and Bugong was our first.
I still recommend it to people, specially if your agenda is just eat and fill your empty stomach, but if you are like us trying it only after ten years, please lower your expectations ![]()
